# How does the nearby alert work?

On Premium, your loyalty card can pop up on a customer’s lock screen when they are near your shop. Turn it on in Loyalty → Nearby, set where the shop is, and choose any time or only your busy hours.

Set the shop’s location with **Use my location** while you’re in the shop, or look up your address. On iPhone you can change the line the card shows. Google writes its own on Android.

The customer’s phone decides when they’re close. Their location never reaches us, and we can’t see who walked past.
