# How do I turn on loyalty cards?

Go to Loyalty cards and press Turn on. No tag is needed: you or your staff add stamps by scanning a customer's card in the staff app. A Loyalty tap, the NFC tag customers tap themselves, is optional and can be ordered from the same screen.

After switching on, set how many stamps fill a card (3 to 20), how long rewards last, and how many a customer can hold. See [loyalty card settings](https://thetap.shop/docs/loyalty-card-settings).

Then design the card customers see in their wallet. The preview shows your changes as you make them.
