What does the QR code on my loyalty card do?
It opens your card in your phone’s browser: your stamps, the reward you’re working towards and any rewards waiting. Scanning it never adds a stamp; you collect those by tapping the shop’s Loyalty tap each visit.
It also reconnects your phone to your card. Your browser remembers which card is yours, but a new phone, cleared browsing data or a private window forgets it. Opening the card from your wallet puts it back, so your next tap collects on the same card instead of starting a new one.
If the shop has stopped running loyalty cards, the code opens the shop’s page instead, and your stamps are kept in case they start again.
The QR code on a reward voucher is different: it opens the Use reward page. See using a reward.
