Apple Wallet loyalty cards in the UK

24 October 2026 · 4 min read

How a loyalty card gets into a customer’s Apple or Google Wallet, what they see on iPhone and on Android, and what you need to run one.

Apple Wallet and Google Wallet hold more than bank cards: boarding passes, tickets, and loyalty cards. A shop’s card sits beside them and updates on its own, which makes it the one stamp card a customer can’t leave at home.

How the card gets there

The customer opens your page, or your loyalty page at thetap.shop/your-name/loyalty, and presses Add to Apple Wallet or Add to Google Wallet. That is the whole sign-up: no account, no app, no email address.

What they see

  • On iPhone, a row of stamps in the drawing you chose (dots, or an icon such as a coffee cup or scissors), your colours and your logo.
  • On Android, Google Wallet shows the count instead, such as 3/10, in your colours.
  • On both, a QR code staff scan at the till, and a notification when a stamp lands or a reward is ready.

What you need

A page on The Tap Shop with your logo, loyalty cards switched on, and a phone at the till with the staff app open. You don’t need an Apple developer account, a card machine integration or a tag, though a Loyalty tap lets customers stamp their own card if you’d rather. See loyalty cards and the staff app.
