How to get more Google reviews without asking twice

24 October 2026 · 4 min read

Most happy customers mean to leave a review and never do. Where the button sits, and when they see it, decides whether they get round to it.

Customers who leave happy rarely leave a review. Not because they don’t want to, but because by the time they think of it they are somewhere else, and finding your business on Google, scrolling to reviews and pressing the right button is three steps too many.

Shorten the distance

The review is most likely in the minute after the good moment: the coffee, the fade, the meal. So the button has to be where they are in that minute, and one tap from the review form.

  • Put it first on your page. Make your Google review link the featured link, so it is the largest button, straight under your name.
  • Put the page on the counter. A QR poster or a stand by the till means the button is a scan away while they are still in the shop.
  • Say it once. “If you enjoyed it, there’s a review button on the stand” is enough. Asking twice turns a favour into a chore.

Don’t filter who can review

Some tools ask customers how they felt first and only send the happy ones to Google. Google’s own rules forbid it, and customers notice. Every visitor to your page sees the same review button, whatever they think of you.

Setting it up

Add a Google Reviews link in Links, make it featured, then print the QR poster from QR & poster. A counter stand from us is £29, or two for £49, set up for your page before it is posted. See every link option.
