How do loyalty cards work?
Customers keep a stamp card in Apple or Google Wallet. Each visit, you or your staff scan the card to add a stamp, or they tap your Loyalty tap tag; the card updates and notifies them. The stamp that fills the card adds a reward to their rewards and the card starts again. Staff watch them use rewards at the till.
- The customer adds your card, from your loyalty card page or their first tap.
- Every visit they collect one stamp: you, a team member or a paired staff phone scans the QR on their card in the staff app and presses once per stamp, or they tap your Loyalty tap if you have one.
- The last stamp adds a reward to their rewards, and the card starts again straight away.
- They tick a reward and press Use in front of staff. Check it turns grey and says Used before handing anything over.
- Refreshing the page or opening an old link gives nothing: every tap carries a fresh one-use code from the tag.
- Rewards wait in their list until used, up to the most you allow in your settings. With that many waiting, the stamp that would earn another is held back until they use one.
- Cards nobody has used for the time in your settings are deleted for good, unless they still hold a reward. Rewards already earned are kept until they expire.
No app and no paper cards. To start, see turning on loyalty cards.
